Voigtländer Vitomatic II Camera c. 1958

Details

A finely crafted 1950s 35mm rangefinder camera manufactured in West Germany by the legendary optical maker Voigtländer. This Vitomatic II model features the highly regarded Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.8 lens and a Prontor-SLK Special leaf shutter. Built with a heavy metal body, coupled selenium light meter, bright optical viewfinder with coupled rangefinder, and a distinctive bottom-mounted film advance lever. Accompanied by its original fitted brown leather ever-ready carrying case; notably, one side of the leather case strap is detached and no longer secured to the side lug. Interestingly, the Vitomatic series was renowned for its silky-smooth mechanical operation and crystal-clear optics, representing West German engineering at its finest. Displays excellent cosmetic condition with light age patina, offered as an untested historical display piece. A handsome addition for classic camera collectors and mid-century decor display.
