A Space Age mechanical pedestal alarm clock, manufactured in Romania by Victoria Arad during the 1970s. Featuring an iconic spherical body set on a sleek tulip-style base, it is crafted in bright yellow and black plastic with a clear acrylic dome face. Designed as a bedside or desk clock, it captured the era's space-inspired futuristic aesthetic. The dial displays the original inscriptions "4 RUBINE" and "MADE IN ROMANIA". Please note that its mechanical movement is non-working, making it ideal as a decorative pop-art piece, prop, or restoration project. It shows slight marks on the plastic body consistent with its age and use. Interestingly, heavily influenced by the Space Age design wave and Saarinen's tulip silhouettes, this Romanian clock became an iconic pop-culture object across Eastern Europe in the 1970s.
