A heavy-duty 1960s Standard 8mm (Double 8) clockwork movie camera manufactured in the Soviet Union by the famed KMZ factory in Krasnogorsk. This Quarz 2M (????? 2M) model is fitted with a sharp Jupiter-24 12.5mm f/1.9 lens and an integrated front-facing selenium cell light meter. Constructed with a rugged hammer-tone grey-enameled cast alloy body trimmed with a contoured chrome frame, side spring-wind key, variable frame rates (12 to 48 fps), and a pristine dual-spool internal film chamber. Interestingly, the Quarz series was a flagship USSR home movie maker celebrated across Eastern Europe for its indestructible mechanical engineering. Displays superb vintage cosmetic condition with light age-appropriate patina, offered as an untested historical display piece. A standout piece for movie camera collectors or mid-century interior styling.
