Elegant and substantial antique desktop inkwell crafted in the late 19th to early 20th century. Features a thick, square block of heavy clear glass with bevelled edges and four top grooves designed to serve as pen rests. The central well is fitted with an ornate hinged brass lid featuring embossed floral scrollwork and a central shield motif. A commanding and classic centerpiece for any antique desk. In excellent vintage condition with minor signs of wear and a rich, aged patina on the brass.
