This piece offers a fascinating window into mid-20th-century geopolitics. Manufactured in Spain by the prestigious Dalmau Carles Pla publishing house, this globe stands out for its detailed cartography in Spanish and its retro aesthetic. A study of its borders dates it approximately between 1960 and 1962: it displays historical landmarks such as the "Mali Federation" (the brief union between Senegal and French Sudan), the Belgian Congo labeled as "Leopoldville," and "Indochina" still appearing in regional nomenclature alongside a divided Vietnam. The sphere rests on a minimalist, Mid-Century Modern tripod base made of chrome-plated metal, which contrasts elegantly with the ochre and greenish tones of the aged paper map, making it a unique collector's item and a decorative element with great character.
