This fascinating piece of French engineering is a Lumière Eljy S, one of the most elegant miniature cameras produced in the mid-20th century (approx. 1940-1950). Made in France, it stands out for its ultra-compact design featuring a retractable lens that deploys via a polished metal tube. It is equipped with a 1:3.5 "Lypar" Anastigmat lens, renowned for its optical quality in such a small format. The camera uses a special 35mm unperforated film (Eljy type), which allowed it to be much smaller than conventional 35mm cameras of its time. It is a gem for classic camera collectors and vintage industrial design enthusiasts, featuring its original folding viewfinder and a metal body finished in black leather.
