These shears are a classic example of industrial tailoring tools. They feature an "offset" design, allowing the lower blade to glide flat against the cutting table without lifting the fabric, ensuring absolute precision. The lower handle is significantly larger and circular, allowing the tailor to apply pressure with several fingers (or even the palm), while the upper handle is narrower for the thumb. The small metal protrusion or "stop" between the handles acts as a safety buffer to prevent the blades from over-crossing and to reduce impact fatigue during repetitive closing.
