This item is an antique desktop organizer or letter sorter from the early 20th century, crafted from oak wood featuring a highly pronounced grain and an elegant reddish tone. It was originally used in offices and studies of the period to organize letters, invoices, or manuscripts discreetly and securely, thanks to its sloped, hinged front lid equipped with an Art Deco-style lock. Inside, it features several horizontal shelves made of light wood that facilitate document classification. Its robust design includes comfortable integrated metal side handles for easy transport and an ornamented top crest displaying an original small metal plate from the court purveyor Theiner & Meinicke, located in Breslau (now Wroclaw), certifying its historical provenance and high-quality craftsmanship.
