This magnificent collector's item is an antique lantern from the prestigious French brand Luxor, specifically designed to operate with a candle inside. Manufactured in the early 20th century, these highly robust portable lanterns were mainly used in the transport sector for carriages, railways, or as primitive road signalling systems, thanks to their characteristic reddish-toned front glass—ideal for warning of danger or indicating the rear position in the dark. The body of the lantern is made of cast metal with a dark finish and features an ornamented top chimney shaped in segments, allowing proper ventilation for the heat and flame gases. The set is presented preserved and stabilized on an elegant solid wood stand, showcased as a high-end vintage decor and interior design piece, while conserving its original historical patina and the characteristic airtight closure of its lens.
