This antique acetylene lantern (carbide lamp) belongs to the renowned Lucas brand. In the early 20th century, these portable devices were commonly used as pioneering lighting systems for early bicycles, motorcycles, and vintage cars. This collector's piece presents a robust metal cylindrical frame with a fine aged patina, featuring an embossed seal on its upper hood that reads "Herm. Riemann's Favorit - Chemnitz-Gablenz". The back section retains its original mounting mechanism, currently attached to a solid wood display stand that features a label with the Union Jack and the inscription "LUCAS Acétylène".
