An exceptional antique desk globe dating from the 1920s (c. 1920-1925), published in Berlin by Dietrich Reimer (Ernst Vohsen) A.G. at a 1:90,000,000 scale. It features paper lithographed gores over a sphere, an inclined axis, and an elegant turned dark wooden stand. The German cartography captures post-WWI geopolitics, explicitly marking former German colonies (ehem. deutsche Kolonien). Interestingly, the Dietrich Reimer house was a premier European authority on educational and diplomatic cartography throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. Exhibits authentic age patina and light paper wear consistent with its history. A distinguished collectible for home libraries or executive desks.
