A handsome 1950s medium-format folding camera manufactured in West Germany by the historic Agfa maker. This Billy Record model features an Agfa Agnar 85mm f/4.5 lens paired with a Vario leaf shutter. Built with a contoured black-ribbed metal body, top-plate shutter release, integrated optical viewfinding, and a rear red film counter window. Accompanied by its original fitted brown leather carrying case featuring an embossed Agfa logo; notably, the leather case shows wear with loss of the outer leather finish along its top flap. Interestingly, Agfa's Billy series played a pivotal role in popularizing medium-format travel photography in post-war Europe thanks to its sturdy self-erecting strut design. Displays a rich vintage patina with light age-appropriate wear, offered as an untested historical display piece. A classic German collectible ideal for photography enthusiasts or mid-century interior styling.
