Details

This item is an antique white porcelain albarello or apothecary jar with a lid, estimated to have been manufactured in the late 19th or early 20th century. Its original purpose was the storage and preservation of medicinal preparations, ointments, or dried plants in the pharmacies of the era. Prominently featured in the center is the Latin inscription "CONS. ROS." (Confection of Roses), hand-painted in a classic black typeface with a vibrant orange outline, all framed by a delicate ornamental decoration of plant filigree in gold and ochre tones. Its structure displays a stylized and slender silhouette with a rounded body that narrows toward a raised circular base and a concave neck topped by a lid with a conical knob. This elegant and functional design protected the contents from light and moisture, showing natural wear and tear from the passage of time on the golden profiles and the knob, which enhances its historical authenticity.
