This item is an elegant counter or reception bell featuring a side lever mechanism, manufactured in Europe around 1900. Originally conceived to summon staff in hotels, shops, or offices of the era, the object stands out for its solid and ornamented lobed base made of cast iron with an antique gilded finish, decorated with Art Nouveau (Modernist) inspired reliefs. The central axis holds a hemispherical resonating bell made of burnished steel, topped at the upper part by a turned brass finial, while the characteristic articulated arm with a knob allows the internal clapper to be activated, emitting a clean and crystal-clear sound.
