This antique lantern belongs to the French brand Reiduor, a historical collector's item designed to operate on acetylene gas (carbide lamp). In the early 20th century, these types of portable headlamps were commonly used as lighting systems for early bicycles, motorcycles, or vintage automobiles. The device features an aged-patina metal structure with a distinct ribbed lower tank, and it is equipped with two colored faceted jewel side lenses (green and red) used as marker lights. The upper protective hood is embossed with the firm's name "Reiduor". The back features an original articulated mounting bracket attached to a solid wood display stand, which is topped with a label displaying the French flag and the inscription "REIDUOR Acétylène". An excellent piece of industrial archaeology for collectors or vintage decor enthusiasts.
