Details

Peppermint (Mentha spicata) is an ideal plant in the kitchen, for its intense and fresh flavour as a condiment to many dishes, accompanying drinks or as an infusion.

With this mint aromatic kit you can use both the stems and the leaves, either fresh or dried. With these 2 fresh parts a multitude of sauces can be prepared to accompany meat and fish dishes, especially lamb. In addition to this use, it is also added to soups, salads, cooked vegetables, which give a special flavour to dishes such as mondongo or olla gitana.

Another use is in drinks, either fresh leaves, as in the mojito, or dried, which are used to prepare infusions such as North African green tea.

What does this peppermint flavouring kit contain?

A sachet of mint seeds to grow several times, clay balls, bag of substrate, growing instructions and this leak-proof 16x23 cm pot bag.

Reusable for several crops.

How do I start growing my own mint?

1. Cut the grow bag below the seal and take out the substrate containers and seeds, leaving the clay balls at the bottom for drainage.

2. Open the substrate bag and fill it with water to the top level of the substrate. Seal the bag and work with your hands so that all the substrate is moistened. Make a hole in the bag and remove the excess water and pour the moistened soil into the bag.

3. Sprinkle about 15-20 seeds and cover them by half a centimetre. Save the rest of the seeds for the next crop.

4. Place a plastic greenhouse until the first sprouts are produced in a place with light but no direct sun and add hours of sunlight as they grow.

5. Keep the substrate moist but not waterlogged, watering with a spray is a good option.
